What a difference….a year or two makes!

I was editing a few sessions and working on a few other things today (at nap time!) and came across a few older photos.
Absolutely the best part of this job is watching kiddos grow.

Two kiddos in less than TWO years! What an honor to see both of them arrive

1 Week to One Year...Love this kiddo <3

Cake smash to a baby sister just a year later!

Newborn to nearly TWO! <3

What kind of mommy would I be if I didn't have my own kiddo? First photo, an outtake from the 2 year session. They didn't really like each other much. A year later these two are thick as thieves...and they're usually living up to that statement!

I gotta say…I can’t even imagine life with twins.

But I sort of imagine it would look like this…tag teaming

Even further, I can’t imagine life as the wife of a service member.
Having to say goodbye.

You women are such inspirations to me. The strength I’ve seen through Operation Love is immeasurable.
I am continually encouraged watching families in OpLove and Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. They are an immovable force.

I believe that service families treasure their time together more than most...

These little guys only slow down long enough to love on Daddy

And maybe long enough for a family shot :)

Thank you SO much W Family for your patience in getting these back.
I know daddy is gone now and I hope these pictures help all of you until he comes home safe and sound.

When I look at this picture, it all comes rushing back.

The fear, the uncertainty, the chaos and then the calm after the storm.

Having my son was medically the most frighting  thing I’ve ever done in my life. I will spare the details, but we are both so lucky to be here.

First moments with mommy in surgery- courtesy of my dad's P&S camera and my husband's rockin' photography skills

I wanted to put a post in between my last one and this one of a service family, but (as many photographers can relate) time just gets away from you.
So here it is again, yet another very personal and self indulgent post about my little miracle baby.

22wks- 20D + Timer + Preggo Mommy = Horrible Stuff

HUGE @ 28wks. Bed Rest meant I was only allowed to go to the bathroom- hence the bathroom shot I snuck in. Love the P&S action!

Shortly before delivery- 31wks. After 1st hospital stay. Gotta love timer & lamp action- we were ghetto stylin' back then!

Lots of scares. Lots of people telling me to expect the worst.
I’m a pessimist by nature, so I expected the worst.

My 5lbs 5oz little man was the only thing that got me through a 6 day hospital stay.

Because of my detachment when things started to go wrong, it wasn’t love at first sight for me.
Morphine and chaos does crazy stuff to your brain.

Day 3 of our stay, my blood pressure climbed to seizure high.
I was transfered to the ICU recovery where I had to lay on a table hooked up to an IV of medication.
I begged for them to bring me Little D, it was 2am and I was all alone in the recovery room. Unable to move, sit up or even speak.

They brought him to me, and he laid on the table with me for four hours.
Not once did he cry or even move. It was like he knew exactly what I needed. That was the moment I no longer felt detached.

I tell myself that someday soon, I will be strong enough to do it one more time.

Maybe I will, maybe I won’t.

Regardless, I have one very beautiful child.
I could not ask for anything more.

Happy 3rd birthday Little Man. Thank you for teaching me more about life then I ever could have dreamed.

1:59PM (Still rockin the P&S action- at least I've upgraded to a camera phone!)

(Thank you for letting me indulge. I promise the next few posts will be for clients- I have service men, MORE newborns and a birth on the way!)

A year ago this past Sunday, my family celebrated an incredibly important milestone.
We had made it through the hardest year of our lives together.

It has only been a year since a very catastrophic event changed our lives forever…
to be quite honest, there were times that we were unsure of whether or not our little family would be together.

We spent Sunday celebrating the fact that through the support of our wonderful family & friends
(and some very very hard work on our part) we are still a family.

We are blessed.

Little Man & Daddy at Breakfast

Ended with some Peachwave...Uh, YUM. Yes the "I don't do actions" girl busting out some faded actions!

Little Man is SUCH a clown

And I totally encourage it. I laughed at him the whole way home!

Through a lot of faith and love, we made it.

I know in my heart that we are better people and a stronger family for making it through this.

I am so proud of you Daddy (and Little Man). You two have stolen my heart.

I’ve been photographing this family since big brother was just a little one, about the age of his sister now.

Since then, they’ve become fantastic friends.

It’s been so cool to capture these children’s personalities now that I know them and their parents so well.

Big Brother is 2!

Little Sis is 6 Months

They both have SO much personality!

Definitely have the typical brother/sister relationship going on- this was an outtake but I couldn't stop laughing

Big brother is going to run me out of business

It's obvious Lil Sis will do something great too...look at that face!!

Thanks L Family for another morning of fun. Being paid to play is the best.

Looking forward to Round 2 this week…brother and sister paint splash!
