Little Miss Sofia Marie entered the world on 12/1

Babies are a funny thing, it’s like they just KNOW when they are needed.
My immediate family has recently gone through some very difficult trauma and I believe this little girl will begin to help all of us heal.

It’s a big weight on her shoulders, but she’s stolen my heart already.

My Beautiful SIL in the studio a few months ago.

We did a shot like this for Baby Ariah a few years ago :)

Little Miss Ariah (big sister!) This took Dora, a couch and daddy acting like an idiot behind the curtains.

Still at the hospital- NB photos coming soon!

I’m such a proud auntie. We all make the most beautiful children.
I know it’s taboo to not show “consistency” in a set (going from studio to lifesytle) but I just love doing things against the grain.

So, enjoy this mixed up set.
Congratulations to my big brother and his family.

My blog today is all about new life.
Because isn’t that truly the reason we celebrate on December 25th?

On December 1st, my beautiful niece (second born to my big brother)
Entered this world happy, healthy and loved.

Thanks to the snow storm that day, I wasn’t able to see her until yesterday.
Of course, I’m in love.

He won’t admit it yet, but I think my little man is too.

This is the story of Baby C!

Mommy with Baby C in her tummy. Beautiful as usual.

First Moments of Baby C

Meeting Mommy

Love from Daddy

Welcome, Baby C.

And just a few of the NB pictures!

Punk Rock Princess!

She let me try out my first attempt at creating a Flapper Style NB hat

This was my self indulgence, I've been wanting to do this again for a long time. I'm thinking of using this for a print competition next year, thanks Mommy :)

Ok this was a little indulgent too :)

Thanks {MFam} for continuing to let me be such a huge part of your lives.
I’m looking forward to having some awesome baby & brother photos and new family photos next month!

I did several super fun “stylized” sessions for the baby & child contest.

By stylized, I mean that they had a theme. We had an idea in mind and styled it.

This theme was not my own, it came from mom. Who is, obviously, a genius because Little K LOVES to cook.

If you haven’t found out yet on my facebook page, Little K did win. Here’s some of my favorites from the kitchen mess!

Thanks K. We always have fun, no matter how messy it is.

When I look at this picture, it all comes rushing back.

The fear, the uncertainty, the chaos and then the calm after the storm.

Having my son was medically the most frighting  thing I’ve ever done in my life. I will spare the details, but we are both so lucky to be here.

First moments with mommy in surgery- courtesy of my dad's P&S camera and my husband's rockin' photography skills

I wanted to put a post in between my last one and this one of a service family, but (as many photographers can relate) time just gets away from you.
So here it is again, yet another very personal and self indulgent post about my little miracle baby.

22wks- 20D + Timer + Preggo Mommy = Horrible Stuff

HUGE @ 28wks. Bed Rest meant I was only allowed to go to the bathroom- hence the bathroom shot I snuck in. Love the P&S action!

Shortly before delivery- 31wks. After 1st hospital stay. Gotta love timer & lamp action- we were ghetto stylin' back then!

Lots of scares. Lots of people telling me to expect the worst.
I’m a pessimist by nature, so I expected the worst.

My 5lbs 5oz little man was the only thing that got me through a 6 day hospital stay.

Because of my detachment when things started to go wrong, it wasn’t love at first sight for me.
Morphine and chaos does crazy stuff to your brain.

Day 3 of our stay, my blood pressure climbed to seizure high.
I was transfered to the ICU recovery where I had to lay on a table hooked up to an IV of medication.
I begged for them to bring me Little D, it was 2am and I was all alone in the recovery room. Unable to move, sit up or even speak.

They brought him to me, and he laid on the table with me for four hours.
Not once did he cry or even move. It was like he knew exactly what I needed. That was the moment I no longer felt detached.

I tell myself that someday soon, I will be strong enough to do it one more time.

Maybe I will, maybe I won’t.

Regardless, I have one very beautiful child.
I could not ask for anything more.

Happy 3rd birthday Little Man. Thank you for teaching me more about life then I ever could have dreamed.

1:59PM (Still rockin the P&S action- at least I've upgraded to a camera phone!)

(Thank you for letting me indulge. I promise the next few posts will be for clients- I have service men, MORE newborns and a birth on the way!)

Nearly two years ago, I had the privilege and honor of photographing the P Family’s first arrival.
Since then, they have quickly become wonderful friends and I’ve had so much fun watching their family grow.

I was, once again, honored to be invited to watch the birth of their second miracle. This time, a baby boy.
We had a great day hanging out, laughing and reminiscing about the first delivery.

Without further ado, I am so excited to introduce baby Sean.
