Gorgeous Parents!

Thank you {CFam} for opening up your home and trusting me at this time in your life!

A few weeks ago I had the honor of photographing a really unique first birthday party.

The details at this party were extremely cultural and incredibly creative…

(I wish everyone could see this in person, mom had photographed the little guy at many different phases of growth on the same play mat. I was inspired and a little jealous!)

Super Cute Little Man!

In a Korean tradition, many items were placed in front of the birthday boy and what he chooses is supposed to predict his future…
(if you would like to read more- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_birthday_celebrations)

Pencils!

Thank you {KFam} for allowing me to capture such a beautiful, special day.

This is the first time I’ve really been able to explain more about my involvement in Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.
I served this family several years ago when they had their second loss.

I remember the call, it pulled at my heart. Something about them seemed so special.
I had the honor of shooting maternity photos as well as arriving for their little girl’s birth and I knew she would stay with me forever…
as one of those angel babies you never forget.

I was ECSTATIC last year (around this time) when mom got in touch and told me she was pregnant again and he was healthy.

It is like this rainbow baby just radiates joy.

All “new” mom and dads dote on their babies but the love I see from angel parents is overwhelming.

Volunteering is rough at times. Not every family will become a friend, some won’t even remember your name.
But every once in awhile, you’ll take a call for a family that will stay with you.

They will remind you what a gift NILMDTS portraiture is.

And sometimes you can even share in the joy of a rainbow baby.

It makes me sad to think dad (both mom and dad are veterans) will be leaving again next year.
But I know they cherish every moment with this little guy. I mean, how could you not!?’

Thank you {BFam} for letting me continue to be a part of your lives.
Your strength and spirit inspires me and helps me remember why I started doing all of this in the first place

I met this amazing family this past summer at the PreEclampsia walk.
The mother gave me strength, hope and made me feel like my journey through such trauma was not faced alone.

Seeing her beautiful son, not much younger than Davs, reminded me once again what a miracle he is.

Such a beautiful family

(I know I posted this on #8/25, I just loved the picture)

Wonderful little miracle boy <3

Beautiful little sister.

Learning to walk...

Just loved this one.

and…my laugh for the session

Thank you {MFam} for trusting me with your memories and sharing your stories.
I feel like I have connected with your family on only that level that survivors can <3

This wasn’t a photo I took on my own free will per say (maybe a faux paux for this challenge)
But it fit how I felt.

I met this amazing family at the PreEclampsia walk back this summer.
Her little boy, who is very close to age as my little man, just reminds me what a miracle my little man is.

She give me hope for someday having another (healthy) child.

Christmas is Miracles.

Little Miss Sofia Marie entered the world on 12/1

Babies are a funny thing, it’s like they just KNOW when they are needed.
My immediate family has recently gone through some very difficult trauma and I believe this little girl will begin to help all of us heal.

It’s a big weight on her shoulders, but she’s stolen my heart already.

My Beautiful SIL in the studio a few months ago.

We did a shot like this for Baby Ariah a few years ago :)

Little Miss Ariah (big sister!) This took Dora, a couch and daddy acting like an idiot behind the curtains.

Family Hands

The storyboard from the other day <3

Still at the hospital- NB photos coming soon!

I’m such a proud auntie. We all make the most beautiful children.
I know it’s taboo to not show “consistency” in a set (going from studio to lifesytle) but I just love doing things against the grain.

So, enjoy this mixed up set.
Congratulations to my big brother and his family.

Oh Little J, it’s been awesome watching you grow.

Cake!

Such a happy, handsome little man.

Happy 2nd Birthday sweet boy.
Thank you (and your awesome family) for letting me share it with you.

My blog today is all about new life.
Because isn’t that truly the reason we celebrate on December 25th?

On December 1st, my beautiful niece (second born to my big brother)
Entered this world happy, healthy and loved.

Thanks to the snow storm that day, I wasn’t able to see her until yesterday.
Of course, I’m in love.

He won’t admit it yet, but I think my little man is too.

Another fun set from a few weeks ago with the {LFam}

(started the afternoon in the candy shop)

The look on Little Miss Diva's Face sold this image for me!

Family Photos with these four usually end up something like...this.

16 Months; All about the juice box. And food...they call her "little beast"

Almost Three!

Mommy Love

"Okay, you can kiss me...but don't take away my juice box"

Thanks {LFam} for an eventful year!

I’m catching up on some serious blogging (among MANY other things) this weekend!

Meet the {DFam} Can you tell the little one runs the family?

I love it when wives tell me their husbands don’t smile…
Lifestyle always makes this happen :)

As an afterthought, I’m going to have to hire her before she takes over Castle Rock. She just looks so determined
