These are all favorites for different reason.
Maybe the photo made me laugh…
the back story was possibly captivating
(it could just be my kid, I’m seriously partial)
or I could just really love the photograph.

They tell you that it takes 3 solid years to “make or break you”.
Although 2011 was a difficult year for me personally, my business thrived.
I’m so excited for year four and to all of you who have supported me, I love you dearly.

I am a creative soul. Making other people happy is my business, it just happens to be through a memory captured in a photograph. I understand that life is fleeting- I dream of my mark on the world being the photographs I leave behind. I started my business so that I could make a difference and everything I do revolves around giving back through photographs. I am a mother, a friend and I am loved.

So…I was supposed to take the month of December off
(see how well that went?)

and I was going to focus on my 25 days of Christmas photos
(yup, I scored on that one too)

But when this amazing couple contacted me and asked me to do last minute maternity photos while her husband was on R&R
there was just NO WAY I could say no.

I love my military families!

Daddy & Mommy

So excited to hear that mom & baby are healthy.
Congrats to such a wonderful family and thank you to them for their commitment to our country.

(My LOL photo that day, it just made me laugh)

Chirstmas Cards.
Yup, 12 days left and we are just doing Christmas Card photos.

To be fair, I wanted originally to use the amazing photos that Kaela Green Photography took for us back in September
but changed my mind last minute because we’re using them for something a little more special :)

So, here’s our “photo booth” style photos for the photo booth style card we are doing.

We need 4-6 pictures. Leave a comment with your top 4 or top 6 favorites!

This is the first time I’ve really been able to explain more about my involvement in Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.
I served this family several years ago when they had their second loss.

I remember the call, it pulled at my heart. Something about them seemed so special.
I had the honor of shooting maternity photos as well as arriving for their little girl’s birth and I knew she would stay with me forever…
as one of those angel babies you never forget.

I was ECSTATIC last year (around this time) when mom got in touch and told me she was pregnant again and he was healthy.

It is like this rainbow baby just radiates joy.

All “new” mom and dads dote on their babies but the love I see from angel parents is overwhelming.

Volunteering is rough at times. Not every family will become a friend, some won’t even remember your name.
But every once in awhile, you’ll take a call for a family that will stay with you.

They will remind you what a gift NILMDTS portraiture is.

And sometimes you can even share in the joy of a rainbow baby.

It makes me sad to think dad (both mom and dad are veterans) will be leaving again next year.
But I know they cherish every moment with this little guy. I mean, how could you not!?’

Thank you {BFam} for letting me continue to be a part of your lives.
Your strength and spirit inspires me and helps me remember why I started doing all of this in the first place

For day 6, we got crafty.

Another pinterest find (the canvas idea) we made a hand print tree.

I realized I haven’t really immortalized my child at  certain ages as often as I should, I’m so busy taking photos I forget his little hands will grow soon.

Maybe when he’s 18, I can hang this next to the turntable butt photo and really embarrass him!

I’m catching up on some serious blogging (among MANY other things) this weekend!

Meet the {DFam} Can you tell the little one runs the family?

I love it when wives tell me their husbands don’t smile…
Lifestyle always makes this happen :)

As an afterthought, I’m going to have to hire her before she takes over Castle Rock. She just looks so determined

I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful new family about a week ago.
I love photographing children, but this little guy stole my heart

Can you blame me?

Such a sweet, happy baby.

BEAUTIFUL family. Such a great view out their window.

Mommy and Daddy are obviously in love too.

<3

Sweet baby boy.

Huge thanks again to this beautiful family who invited me to share a few minutes of their new life together.

When I first changed over from a website to a blogsite, I gave away a “Beloved” Mommy + Me session to one of my fans.
The girl who won happens to be a wonderful friend.

I could go on and on about what an amazing mommy she is, but pictures tell more than I ever could with words.

I've been photographing this kiddo for two years next month, she just keeps getting more and more beautiful.

Earlier today I was looking over some material from #WPPI and I was reminded of a quote that really resonated with me,
“If you want to make work that moves people, you have to be moved while making it”

This next picture is the total summation of that concept

Complete and total love.

Thank you Mommy J and Little A for being so patient with me and allowing me to be such a huge part of your lives.
We love you both immensely, you are a testament to how difficult it is to not get attached to clients :)

(this last one is just indulging me, cause Little A and my little man have wonderful moments together)

The {BFam} has been with me for a pretty long time :)
In fact, they’ve been with me since before I ever started offering “lifestyle”

So of course, when they ask every year for their traditional family portrait, I’m always willing to accommodate.

Little N just turned three…by a stroke of luck there was a tractor there.
Seriously, how lucky is that. If you have had a three year old boy, you would understand!

SUCH a cutie.

Even though they love their traditional portraits, I think they rock the lifestyle stuff.

Thanks {BFam}. It’s always a pleasure!
